The The Major. This is hell.

The world is on fire, so, yeah, this is hell.

And with record high temperatures for April recorded in large swaths of

Asia across Thailand, Myanmar, Laos, Vietnam, China, and throughout South Asia, as well as record April highs in Spain,

it sure does look like the planet is burning.

So if the planet really is on fire that is suffering from climate change and

increasingly extreme weather including fires and droughts all we have to do is

put that fire out, right? Seems simple. Sure, that technology doesn't exist yet, but I'm certain it will.

Humans are a creative and innovative bunch.

I'm sure everything will be just fine.

I mean, sure, it doesn't look like we'll meet the 20-30 carbon emissions goals of the Paris Agreement.

But that's seven years away from now.

We got plenty of time. Who knows what us clever monkeys will come up with by then?

In the meantime, we can just keep living our lives the way we've been living them. All we need to do is get this green grid up and running and we can just keep plugging along with a constantly growing economy providing us with all the luxuries we currently enjoy and

many of them that we waste.

According to today's guest, that seems to be the thinking behind the Green New Deal, which promises a green future

where we can just use as much energy and consume as much goods as we actually do today.

There's no need to change our wasteful habits or lifestyle.

No need to worry.
