It's Zane, my colleague and friend from Antioch, a fellow professor.

I have been scaling back my hours at the university over the last year or two.

And although I'm a lot less stressed out and I don't have to commute anymore,

and I don't have to go to boring meetings anymore, but I do miss hanging out

with colleagues and professors and students, incidentally, because I don't know.

There's just a lot of energy, a lot of exchange of ideas, bonding that happens

when you're a part of a team.

And now I'm not so much experiencing that anymore.

So I thought I would invite some of my professors onto the podcast.

And I'd get two birds of one stone.

We get an episode out of it because there's a lot of expertise among the professors.

And two, you know, I got to check in and hang out with my old friends.

What was it like moving to Seattle?

It was, it was interesting.

I think at first I was enamored because it's a hilly place and there's a lot going on.

I was enamored, but I was also in some ways still fishing for community.

It's a tough thing out here.

I think anytime you move to new city, it's difficult, particularly during the pandemic.

Yeah, two years in was the pandemic.

But also the cultural stratification of Seattle had I known a little bit more about the city.
