Welcome to Searchlight, a survey through Scripture with Pastor John Corson.

It is our desire to bring you a systematic study of the entire Bible, chapter by chapter, book by book.

Here on Searchlight, we have been looking at God's heart for unity in his family.

When God's children are walking in unity, it is a delight to him. We see this heart of God in the prayer of Jesus

in John 17. In this prayer, Jesus passionately prays that all believers would be one. Just as passionately as Jesus wants unity in the family,

Satan wants to divide the family of God. We previously learned two ways that Satan tries to

divide the family of God. One way is through competition, and another way is through gossip.

Let's now join Pastor John as we consider a third way that Satan tries to divide and conquer

the family.

Well, number three, not just competition as we saw in Canaan Abel or exposure of sin as we

saw in Ham, Shem and Japeth, Ham being the perpetuator of that sin.

But number three, turn with me to Genesis chapter 20 for our third family. As we see the tactics

of the enemy in causing division. Abraham, the father of faith, the father of the Jewish nation.

Here we see Abraham, chapter 21, pardon me, and after his promised boy, Isaac, was eight days old, verse four tells us,
