There are some bad things happening out there.

Today, we're going to help you as best we can if something really disastrous has happened to you.

And we're going to try to do that through understanding and learning some coping strategies

and also talking about horror movies. I'll elaborate in just a second. It's Depression Mode. I'm

John Moe. I'm glad you're here. See, one of the problems with capitalism, among the problems with capitalism is that the place that you work for, the place to which you have committed, may simply decide,

eh, you don't work there anymore, and lay you off. To save a few bucks,

to please a few investors, whatever it is, you're out on the street with a box of your stuff

and a house plant, and you're unemployed. And it can be really hard to get a new job these days,

sometimes for a long time. There can be very real, very immediate

financial concerns from that, and very real mental health fallout from that as well. Unemployment,

particularly long-term unemployment, is a mental health story, because everything is kind of a mental health story. We'll look at that

story and what to do about it. Speaking of horror, a little later in the show, horror,

we'll learn about a mental health support group in California that gets together with the

help of a licensed therapist, watches terrifying, sometimes gruesome horror

movies together and talks about them. They say it helps their mental health. And we're all

about finding out stuff that helps you out. So, you know, cover your ears and open your hearts

and minds and listen to that. That's coming up in a bit.
