With that, here's today's four-legged ghost story.

In August of 2020, my husband and I had to make the heartbreaking decision to put our 14-year-old lab mix Wyatt to sleep. His hips had degenerated so badly that he could no longer stand up

to walk on his own and could barely walk when we could get him to his feet. We were both devastated

at the thought of losing our fur baby. Fourteen years prior, before I had even met my husband, I decided I wanted a chocolate

lab puppy. As destiny would have it, I walked into PetSmart one day to buy cat food, and this

little speckled chocolate lab mixed puppy was being unloaded from the van and brought to the store for

Pet Adoption Day.

I knew immediately that he was the one I had been waiting for.

The lady in charge was quite hesitant to let me fill out all the paperwork

and cautiously questioned what kind of life I would give him.

Eventually I convinced her I was up for the commitment,

and she agreed to let me take him home.

The connection I formed with Wyatt was deep. Our souls knew each other. We did everything together.

We went everywhere together. We even crossed borders, moved from Las Vegas to Vancouver in 2012 to join who would become my husband

and the greatest doggy dad a pup could ever ask for. We enjoyed many special memories together

going on walks and hikes, visiting parks, and soaking up the sun on beach days. The three of us

really had a great life together.
