Hello listeners, welcome back to Underwood and Flinch.

In our last episode we heard Underwood tell the story of how he was abducted from Matthias' beach campsite by a vampire and taken to the creature's cave.

There, in a fierce and bloody battle, he and Rudge fought and killed the creature,

but through a combination of getting bitten by the vampire and accidentally drinking its blood, Underwood became afflicted with vampireism.

His first victim was Rudge, whom he drained to death. Then, once

Andalwood was fully restored, he explored the vampire's cave and found the creature's treasure hoard.

Excited by his sudden wealth, he set out to leave the cave and ran straight into the rays of the sun,

which immediately set his flesh ablaze.

He managed to extinguish himself and crawl back to the creature's lair.

There he slept and upon waking found himself fully restored but hungry desperately dreadfully

hungry.

And that the only source of sustenance on the island flowed with the veins of Mathias French.

But you don't have to have human blood? said David.

Well, no, I know that now, but I didn't then.

At that point in time, the only blood I'd had that had done the trick had been human so my hunger

was telling me to get more of the same. Anyway the clothes that I'd so carefully picked out

earlier were now burned and tattered so I discarded them in favour of anything that

fitted, and a rather fancy, if a tad smelly, a black rock coat.
