Hello listeners and welcome to episode 9 of Underwood and Flinch season 3.

For this episode we're moving away from the bloodletting blues of Dame O'Sullivan, and renewing our acquaintance with Detective

Inspector Claire Redmond and her partner Detective Sergeant Lawrence Beck. Last time we met them they'd been called to a murder scene in Camden, London,

where a woman's body had been found in a skip.

Actually, some American listeners inquired as to what a skip actually is.

And so for anyone who's puzzled by that, in the US a skip is called a dumpster, the big metal open top rubble container that builders use

when they're working on house renovation and so on.

So there's another little transatlantic English language mystery solved.

Anyway, the body in the skip was naked, washed down and wrapped in black plastic bin bags.

A number of stab wounds to the torso were evident, as was a particularly

brutal hacking wound to the neck. But the most interesting thing about the body was that it appeared to have been drained of blood.

We join Redmond and Beck in this episode a short time after they've left the crime scene. They've now just gone into a coffee

shop seeking sustenance and a chance to gather their thoughts after the morning's unpleasantness.

But what we'll find in episode 9's coffee shop

is more than just hot drinks and pricey snacks.

Oh yes, we'll find the first few pricey will start to unravel through the centuries of Underwood and Flinch,

and underground.
