Hello listeners happy happy Halloween 2021 and welcome back to

Wonder Wooden Flinch where it's season three. Using the term seasons is a new thing

for Underwood and Flinch, you know, at least now in October 2021. But I feel, if only for podcast in this free public feed it's the best way of presenting this ongoing saga

Because that's what it is now. What started out as a one-off novel became a novel with a sequel, and then it just went on from

there over at Patreon where it's become a long-running podcast saga.

And for me, the best way of aggregating those Patreon episodes into this public feed is in seasons.

I can't call them books or novels, can I? Because that's not what they are.

It's a batch of episodes, a season. This is the norm in

podcasting as you know, widely used and understood by millions and it's one that I am

henceforth going to adopt.

It's so much easier to understand, especially for anyone new to the series who turns up and sees a load of book titles and wonders,

where do I begin?

What comes next?

Now they arrive and they see season one, season two, season three, and so on.

Simple.

And the other really good thing about structuring the series into seasons is, I can take the story you're about to hear now,

disturbing the devil, and put it where it belongs in the sequence of events in the saga, namely here. Of course I didn't realize that

when I wrote it or even when I started writing Underwood and Flinch Underground at Patreon. But I do now,

and so that's why it's here.

And so then, with no further ado, come with me,

all this now, as we venture down from the gaslit streets of Victorian London to the world's first underground train system,

the Metropolitan Railway. It's the toast of London. Oh, don't mind the acrid smell? That's just the smoke from the coal-fired trains.
