Hello listeners, welcome back to true stories.

Before I say anything else I just want to give you a quick reminder that

Underwood and Flinch season 3 starts in this feed on Halloween, which means you can finally plug your ears into Underwood

And that's not all my news either. I have an anniversary coming up this

month. Monday, the 25th of October, will mark 15 years since I uploaded my first podcast, one of One Among the Sleepless,

which was recorded on a cheap plastic Skype mic

because that was all I could find in the shops back in 2006.

15 years of doing what started out as a niche thing for nerds and has since become the medium

that swamped the internet, sadly burying us original podcasters under a deluge of content

through which we are all but invisible. Many have given up, moved on, sold their gear and now spend their time on other hobbies.

But some, like me, are still here.

But I wouldn't be, if it weren't for my patrons at Patreon, who made it possible for me to not just

carry on podcasting but to write too. If not for them they wouldn't be a

season three of Underwood and Flinch nor nor the season 4 that will follow it, nor the

season 5 that will follow that and so on and so on.

In fact, the whole thing would have completely run aground back in 2015, halfway through season 2, blood and smoke.

So my thanks, as always, to my patrons at Patreon, but also to you, listener, patron or not, just for still being here listening to me after all these years,

or months, or weeks, or days, however long it may be since you started listening to me, it's a privilege to be in your ears, and I hope that like a stubborn waxy deposit, I stay here for many years to come.
