Okay. Hey friends, welcome back to the Hearing Jesus podcast. I'm your host, Rachel Grohl. Today, we are in Matthew 27. And actually today and tomorrow, we'll be in Matthew 27. We'll do the first half today and the second half tomorrow. And if you've been with us in this series, you know that we are at the very end of

the book of Matthew where we've been looking at the words of Jesus and explaining some of the

history and the background and the culture. I want to just prepare you that. This is a really hard chapter to read through.

And most of it is self-explanatory. And I think it's really important for us to really just

meditate on the sacrifice that Jesus made for you and me. And so while I do have some commentary,

I'm going to encourage you to really just sit with the content

from the word itself. I'm not going to say it a whole lot. There's a little bit that I will touch

face on, but really as we're reading through, I just want you to maybe even just close your eyes

and think through this sacrifice that Jesus made for you and for me willingly to be obedient to God even to the point of death.
