guest and this is probably the most popular guest I've had on because Leslie

I've seen your your podcasts I mean you've been on almost every

podcast that at least I listen to. I've been on a little bit of a

podcast rampage lately. Tis the season for indoor growing. Yes, yeah it definitely is and so guys Leslie is the

author of a book called Gardening Under Lights which I've had for I don't know whenever

it came out Leslie I think I got a pre-release copy so I've had it that summer

Yeah, this summer. Yeah, this summer it's a fantastic book. It's all about what the title says gardening under lights but what I like about it is that it gets into the details.

It gets into the true explanations as to why you would be doing things certain ways, how plants

respond to light.

And so this week, if you couldn't already guess guess that's what we're going to be talking about on the podcast and I figured to kick it off it might make sense for myself and also for all you guys listening to talk about some lighting terminology

because I don't know about you Leslie but for me as a more of a layperson

gardener it's a bit overwhelming sometimes when you hear things like

Watts, Lumen, candle power, foot candles,

lux, photosynthetically active radiation, all these different terms and as a gardener

it's hard to know what am I supposed to apply and what am I what am I what

do I just not even have to worry about. Right so there is a lot of jargon a lot of

terminology that gets thrown around around light and grow lamps and unfortunately the most

common terms that get used like lumens lucks foot candles that has traditionally been the metrics, the measurements you get offered

when you buy a growlamp actually have no meaning whatsoever to growing plants.

So you know, it's not completely your fault as

a hobby as grower that there's some confusion about the terminology because
