Horticultural. So yesterday we cleared up quite a bit of confusion I would say about all the different

pieces of terminology that are often used to explain lights and specifically the quality

of a grow light or the qualities of grow lights in general.

And today we're going to go into a specific type of light and maybe even

contrast that against other types of lights. So the one I'm talking about is the category of

lights that are known as high intensity discharge lights. So Leslie, why don't we

kind of run through what this class of light is in general and then some of the most popular types.

Sure, so when you're looking for grow lights you might see the acronym HID labeled with certain lights and like you said that stands for high intensity

discharge so for the layman that means we're going to get serious now about our

grow lighting so HID equates, let's get serious.

So, you know, to contrast HID lighting against sort of what's most common, most new growers,

home growers, seed starters, are going to be working with fluorescence or smaller lower

wattage LEDs, right? So those are sort of the common growlamps that that most

people are used to using.

But say that you want to be serious

about growing some cannabis,

or you want to grow tomatoes that actually

make big enough fruit for slicing,

or you know, you want to keep some other

flowering fruiting crop you know to harvest indoors well that's when you're
