It is our distinct honor and pleasure to have a number of prominent guests from around

the Dallas area who are involved in other activities in

massad, that we really need to showcase their efforts and their histories.

And, inshallah, today we're going to be hearing a lot about the significance of

Juneteenth and what it means, especially for us here as Muslims in America.

And I want to begin with first and foremost, our brother in Islam, Mustafa Carroll, and

brother Mustafa is no stranger to us here in Epic.

He is a civil rights advocacy activist who became one of the youngest NAACP Youth Council Presidents at the young age of 14 in his

hometown of Gary, Indiana. And he is also the former executive director of Houston's care chapter

and currently the executive director of care here in the Dallas area. And somebody who's well known,

he embraced Islam more than 55 or 54 years ago in the early 70s he's lived through so much of American Islamic history and we're very

honored and pleased to have him so brother Mustafa let's begin ish

with you being our senior most elder,

mashah, a person who can share with us anecdotes, wisdoms, and some of the aspects of Juneteen.

I don't know about that senior stuff, but today is my wedding anniversary.

It's my 48th wedding anniversary.

So I guess I am senior.
