1:18.6	A Palm Beach County grand jury brought only one state felony charge of solicitation of prostitution against Epstein,
1:25.6	which the Palm Beach Police Chief believed fell far short of
1:28.2	the crimes Epstein had committed. So the chief sent the case to the FBI. The Bureau's
1:34.7	investigation would then lead to what we now know as the Epstein files. In 2007, an assistant
1:41.1	U.S. attorney brought a draft indictment of 60 criminal counts against Epstein.
1:46.5	However, Epstein was given what our guest today calls a lenient plea deal by then U.S. attorney Alex Acosta, who in 2017, 10 years later, would become President Trump's Labor Secretary.
1:59.0	When Pam Bondi served as Florida Attorney General from 2011 to 2019, she would be criticized
2:06.7	from not following up on the Epstein files and Acosta's lenient plea deal.
2:11.7	And Bondi has been consistent in her obfuscations of the matter ever since becoming the U.S. Attorney General

2:19.5	It's as if the president is rewarding positions to people who may have covered up Epstein's
