Well, the Winston case is now over.

State attorney Willie Meggs has announced that there will be no charges forthcoming and

that the case is closed.

It's basically become apparent that the complainant was simply not a reliable witness, that her story had changed several times.

Ultimately, this was an unprosecutable case given the inconsistencies in the complainant's story.

That, of course, does not mean that James Winston is innocent, but yeah, that does mean that

he is not guilty of rape in this case.

I think the big statement that has been overlooked by the majority of people who have been

covering this case in the Willie Meg's press conference was when he said there was quite

simply no probable cause. There was not even probable cause to arrest Winston in this case,

let alone there being enough to prosecute this case with success.
