while they were held in Russia.

to torture, including frequent beatings and electric shocks.

A dozen former prisoners of war describe a pattern of extreme violence at the pre-trial

detention facility number two in Taganrog in southwestern Russia.

Such ill treatment would be a clear violation of international humanitarian law.

The UN says Russia has not allowed its human rights monitors to visit the places where

Ukrainian captors are being held.

A correspondent Yuga Bhashiga tracked down some of those who were held in Taganrog to

hear their stories.

Artem was a sniper with the Azov regiment in Madjupal.

Last year, in May, the city was under a Russian siege.

He wanted to keep on fighting, but Ukraine ordered its troops in the Azov-style works to surrender.
