I welcome Katrina Vandenhoveli, editor, editorial director and publisher of the Nation magazine,

who has traveled much and rush over the years and observes this conflict from the point of

view of where's diplomacy.

We've had several conversations about this over the last month.

Katrina has written about it in a column.

But now suddenly there looks to be evidence of diplomacy.

Katrina, since last we spoke, the Secretary of State, Mr. Blinken, at the New Delhi meeting

of the G20 ministers stopped.

We're told for an unscheduled, un-predicted conversation with Sergei Lavrov, the very well-spoken

foreign minister of Russia.

We're told they spoke about New START, about an American being held in Moscow, and about

the Ukraine conflict in some fashion.

Does that look like diplomacy to you?

And I add, there is a report that in New Delhi there was conversation between the National

Security apparatus of Prime Minister Modi and Moscow.
