This is CBSI on the world. I'm John Batchel. I welcome Henry Sikolsky, the executive director of the

Nonproliferation Policy Education Center, to comment on two major concerns for war fighting, communications and atomic weapons.

We begin with communications. The headlines from London, Russian strike forces shut down of gas production facilities.

Russia launches massive missile and drone, that's a quote, attack on Ukraine gas plants.

Zelensky's approval rating jumps 10 points after Trump attacks, and Mr. Trump himself in the

headline. Trump threatens large-scale sanctions to stop Russia, quote, pounding Ukraine.

We were told that the U.S. has decided to withhold intelligence from Ukrainian forces.

Why that's significant here, is that I'm reading that that intelligence was vital for interception of incoming missiles and drones,

hence the massive attack now being reported. At the same time, there are headlines that suggest

there's more than just intelligence being withheld, and that has to do with communications.

This headline from Europe, U.TELSAT in talks with EU to possibly replace Starlink in Ukraine and Bloomberg, Ukraine's dependence on Starlink in war won't be easy to break.

And French operator Uttelsat confirms readiness to replace Starling.

This is about communication.

Intelligence is about incoming and communication.

And Henry has led me to understand all of this is important and highlight,

because while it looks to be peripheral to the violence,

it might be a major revelation.

I think while we talk very loudly about nuclear security guarantees, and there's a lot of news about that and we should talk about that today.
