This is CBS, I'm the World, I'm John Bachelors.

Germany's decision to close its three remaining nuclear energy plants delayed since the beginning

of the winter of 23 because of the uncertainty of energy supplies in harsh winter.

Nuclear energy was a component of the German network these many years, but the decision

made sometime before by Angela Merkel's government was to close it down to nuclear energy,

satisfying the greens as a coalition.

It's a lot of politics, however, at the same time we have news from the G7 that Ross

Adam, the nuclear energy and nuclear weapon, central position in Russia, formed in 2007.

Ross Adam is now to be sanctioned in some fashion or chastised in some fashion by the G7.

It is a moneymaker for Russia and therefore presumably connected to the invasion in Ukraine.

However, I welcome Henry Sikolsky, the executive director of the Non-proliferation Policy

Education Center because the irony here as I understand it Henry is that Ross Adam

has not been vitally sanctioned by G7 or the UN or NATO or the US because Ross Adam

contributes to the energy needs in Eastern Europe as well as in the United States.

The US buys uranium ore from Ross Adam Y because it's cheap and hungry France and Bulgaria

are three states mentioned in Europe that depend on Ross Adam.

So on the one hand we're sanctioning Russia for its natural gas and its oil but on the

other hand we're permitting Ross Adam to continue business as usual.

The official note is that Ross Adam has $250 billion on its order book.

May or may not be accurate but it is certainly true that Ross Adam is a moneymaker for the

Kremlin.

Can these things be brought together or are we just living with globalization?
