Ukraine conflict peace.

We know that President Zelensky traveled to the G7 meeting to speak to the prosperous

of the earth as well as people observing the G7 meeting that would be Narendra Modi

of India, Lula De Silva of Brazil and other distinguished visitors.

However, that conversation was about joining in the sanctions regime and the declaration

against the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

It wasn't about peace.

Lula De Silva has spoken in peace to my knowledge.

He did not meet with Mr. Zelensky.

There was no peace talk.

China has spoken of peace to my knowledge right now.

The Chinese peace proposal has not been acted upon or is an act of discussion.

So I welcome Katrina Vanenhoel, the editorial director and publisher of the Nation magazine.

Because recently our colleague, Anatole Leven, published at the Quincy Institute, an examination

of where we are in the peace talks that are not happening.

And what I learned from speaking with Anatole about it is that he believes there is the

belief that the counteroffensive is holding back the diplomats, that not until the counteroffensive

either succeeds or fails, will there be an negotiation.
