Zapparisha Nuclear Power Plant, the largest in Europe.

Now in the hands of the Russian forces in Donbass, in Ukraine, in what is called Zapparisha

Oblast or Province.

Zapparisha Oblast is one of the combat zones these last weeks of the counteroffensive.

Lohansk, Danetsk, Zapparisha and Harrison leading to the Crimean Peninsula.

Zapparisha Nuclear Power Plant is at this point unknown for its credible future.

We do not have good facts.

I welcome Henry Sikoski, the Executive Director of the Non-Troliferation Policy Education

Center, who's been my guide on Zapparisha for months since the spring of 2022.

What we've learned in that period is that slowly and gradually many news sources have come

to ask questions that cannot be answered about the status of the plant.

Right now, the leader of the Ukrainian state, Mr. Zalenskye, is accusing Russia of preparing

for an operation that would damage one or more of the containment vessels.

Mr. Zalenskye said as recently as the last days that Russian troops, quote, have placed

objects resembling explosives on the roof of several power units of the Zapparisha Nuclear

Power Plant, that would be unit number four, number five, were told by other sources.

At the same time, the Kremlin, Demetri Peskov, who speaks for the Kremlin, says it's the

Ukrainians who are planning an attack on the plant.

Henry, I'll come to you because an attack on the plant sounds dangerous, but we're looking

at six containment vessels, only one of which we've talked about in previous weeks.
