Jeff, I call upon your thinking as an artilleryman for these remarks in these last hours from Berlin

in London's financial times.

Germany's armed forces upgrade will take 50 years to complete if it continues at its current

sluggish pace according to an annual report, the State of Bundeswehr, the German Army.

The Parliamentary Commissioner for the Armed Forces singled out the country's slow defense

procurement, hampering the Army's much-needed upgrade.

I mention this because Germany is the engine, banking engine, and in many instances, the most persuasive

voice in the European Union and in NATO.

And if it's got a 50-year timeline, I don't only guess about everybody else's, so let me

be very specific.

Over the last weeks, NATO says we need a million shells of all kinds.

Ukraine says we need a million shells right now.
