This is the Friends Vista Debating Society. I'm John Batschew with Professor H. J. McHenner. The sixth capital this week is London

because it has political turmoil and yet

Boris Johnson is said to be resigning from Parliament. This has to do with an investigation

during the pandemic in which Boris Johnson is suspect of having misled Parliament. He is

unhappy and the British public are unhappy with the way this is being resolved,

labour, quarries. In other words, it's a domestic dispute. And yet, I measure that from the beginning of the

Ukraine conflict in February of 2022, Ben Wallace has been the Minister of Defence and the Minister

of Defence, the Minister of Defence at London has been the most reliable and sturdy and helpful

informing the public about what is going on in Ukraine and in supplying arms and training

to the Ukrainians. Other countries have also come forward, but I'm noting that London is standing

up at a way that could not have been expected given the separatism that was represented by Brexit.

So, Professor, I turn to you, as London regained its confidence the way once upon a time

of Whitehall came to the rescue of troubled nations.

Well, I think the answer is a qualified yes. Britain in many ways has been the most

successful of the European countries in dealing with the loss of empire. And this is going to

continue because with King Charles, the Commonwealth is going to shrink and Australia is probably going

to have a president and so forth and so on. The Brits have cut their military expenditures

with total irresponsibility. Although it must be said that Labour Prime Minister Atley saw it to

it that Britain had an independent nuclear force and that the Brits are very, very good at certain

cutting edge nuclear technologies. They're elite forces, not just their elite forces.

They're non-commissioned officers and their soldiers are extremely, extremely good,

but they're nowhere near enough of them. However, what we've seen in this war is that rather than
