and what I mean by that is the Israelis have been pretty adamant from the onset of this conflict,

that their goal was the total destruction of Hamas, both militarily and politically, and the

release of the hostages. But the problem is, in some ways, those two goals are counterdictory,

because there's no way I would argue that the Hamas was going to negotiate for the final

release of hostages while at the same time realizing that exterminating them was Israel's goal,
