Professor, NATO's point of view at these rumors that Germany and the U.S. two prominent

members of the NATO Brotherhood are pressing Zelensky to negotiate with Russia,

NATO's point of view, Professor?

Well, I think the question we now face is, what is NATO and what will NATO be?

NATO was called into being by the refusal of Mr. Stalin to accept Marshall Plan AIDS to

Eastern Europe and the Soviet Union and other steps such as the Berlin blockade and things like that and it went on of course until the Berlin Wall, the whole Cold War period.

NATO was an attempt to solve that problem, and it worked very well.

There was no huge war in Europe who we've been preparing for.

However, it brought together countries having very different interests.

We already saw long ago before many of our listeners were aware of it.

We saw the volume of the growth of Mr. De Gaulle and his attempts to make France more powerful than NATO, to leave NATO,

he never left the military alliance, but he left all the rest of it.

And now, I think that we're so preoccupied with other things

that we're failing to see the most dramatic effect

that the war in the Middle East has had on NATO, which is that it has

led Turkey to, in effect, to leave NATO. Now we should remember when we say this the Turkey is a

key member of NATO now in interlic airbase we have American bombers and I assume nuclear weapons there it's a very important

part of NATO's military structure but understand what's going on what's happened now

and this is this is the most important development for
