Brussels, the combined headquarters of the European Union, struggling through a very slow growth period, not quite

recession, not quite recovery. Germany is dipping technically into recession territory.

However, the NATO capital is more dipping technically into recession territory.

However, the NATO capital is more important

for the war fighting in Ukraine.

Professor, I report to you that all of Schultz

making heartfelt speeches these last days,

has made it very clear that Germany is increasing its defense budget

more than 2%.

Why?

I'm told, because Germany is preparing for a president in the White House in 25 who is not

supportive of Ukraine. Whether it's Joe Biden or someone else who speaks against Ukraine.

There's no reason to believe that the US will be able to continue its support at the levels

of these last years.

Therefore, Germany is nominating itself to step up and supply Ukraine.

Your opinion of Brussels point of view.

Well, what you've said about Mr Schultz is very encouraging and it suggests to me that the

Europeans are not quite as bad as I often think that they are, although I'm a great, I love

Europe, but they're not the military powers that they were, nor are they the sources of diplomatic wisdom that they have been periodically through

the 20th century that they were in the 20th century.
