Ukraine conflict. I welcome George Freeman, the founder and chairman, geopolitical futures

to comment and assert. At the news, Turkish President Erdogan, date lined August 9th,

says he aims to revive the Black Sea grain deal with, quote, an expanded scope,

calling on Western countries to help turn the initiative into the basis for peace between Russia

and Ukraine. The quote, we had another chance to learn firsthand Russia's demands,

and expectations during a phone call with Russian President Putin, Erdogan said,

adding that the two leaders shared a, quote, sensitivity on the need for grain to Africa.

George, a very good evening to you. Your most recent remarks at geopolitical futures,

anticipating this very clever turn by Mr. Erdogan, a grain deal into peace between Russia and Ukraine.

Black Sea Basin being militarized even as we speak because of the grain cut off,

and also the increasing attacks on the Black Sea fleet launched by elements of the Ukrainian army.

You entertain Russia's quandary. The first opportunity for Russia to end this conflict

would be to win. You rule that out, I believe, George. They do not have the offensive forces

that can achieve their goals. Is that accurate? Good evening to you, George.

Good evening, and no, I don't think they can at this point. Their first tier forces

had to be supplemented by the Wagner group. Wagner group is now sort of disassembled.

And the rebellion of Russian army is young trainees and officers who were unblooded,

and they don't have the ability to do this, and they're up against an enemy that's fighting for

their homeland. And the Russians are not fighting for that, and they simply are not going to be able

to take to Ukrainians by themselves. Plus the Americans are going to take a very dim view of that,

and arm the Ukrainians, absolutely everything they needed.
