I'm John Batslow with Professor H.J. Mackinder coming on five six capitals, the I-6,

six this week, on Ukraine conflict.

And I report to you that I in a visit to Washington, D.C. within these last hours, it is a city

that does not have commerce that you can see.

The work from home seems to have taken over the federal workforce and all of the private

enterprises that are attached to the federal workforce.

The lobbyists, the associations, the organizations, the services, it's a very quiet town now with

buildings empty.

Large federal buildings empty.

Large private enterprise buildings, huge expensive rentals, empty or near empty, very little

street traffic, no restaurant traffic whatsoever walking by.

What is called the WARF, which is a cavalcade of restaurants and entertainments for the weekend

just by myself in the inclement weather.

It is winter time.

But in any event, the hotel is not full during the week.

No real commerce, even the train wasn't particularly full, although it depends on the hour.

And there is Reagan International Airport.

So it's a government in winter, but it's not a government that says we're at war.

Are we at war, Professor?

Well, empirically, we're at war.

In other words, if you take clasovitz's criteria, are people being killed and being coerced
