Welcomeing Joshua Rogan. He writes global opinions for the Washington Post in a conversation with Boris Johnson. The former Prime Minister, very colorful, very outspoken with a book

to sell, but Mr. Johnson looks to the future. The understanding is that if the Trump administration

pulls back from Ukraine, NATO troops and including British troops would need to go to Ukraine.

Josh, a very good evening to you.

Boris Johnson is not predicting.

He's arguing the logic of Ukraine.

The Trump administration is indicating it once it's settled, but it's not giving us any details.

What is it that Mr. Johnson conveyed about NATO and does he believe NATO is

ready to commit troops to Ukraine if the U.S. leaves? Good evening to you. Well, good evening,

John. Well, I spoke with Boris Johnson on the D.C. leg of his book tour and the way he presented

it to me was that to avoid having

NATO troops and U.S. and U.K. troops being forced to involve themselves in Ukraine, that the solution,

the better solution, the better option is to increase arms and economic aid to Ukraine now.

In other words, I think what he's saying is that if Putin is allowed to conquer Ukraine

and just, you know, turn it into a slave state, then that will lead to the conflict that

we're all trying to avoid, where NATO troops would be

called to fight and die. And we have to avoid that, specifically by not playing into the,

the fever dreams of some on the far right who say that we can end the war in 24 hours by striking a deal on some terms

that the Ukrainians won't be able to live with and the Russians aren't likely to accept anyway.

So I think his message is that supporting Ukraine is the best way toward peace.

I happen to agree with that.
