Welcome back to the Lantern Rouge Cycling Podcast with Benji Nice and we just finished watching the men's individual time trial world championships.

We watched the women's world champs yesterday almost simultaneously with recording our world championships preview podcast if you haven't

listened to that the first all three quarters of it is dedicated to just the road races so it's not actually out of date yet so if you've

this weekend but we're going to do the men's time trial first freshen our minds and then go to the women's time trial

afterwards which actually has a fair bit of news as we sit on the preview the time trial for the the parkour for both the men and women was

32k or like 31.8k's starting in Imola on the auto drone and then finishing back there as well the last

three to four k's or maybe yeah three k's was actually the track and I actually made a little bit

interesting and there's a few things to talk about there but yeah it's it was pretty much flat it's a

quick is the women was going to go over 50k's an hour in the men's we knew that so yeah pretty much flat apart from a few

few little clients and what you don't see when you just look at the profile and when you actually look at the

the map of the course itself you see how many twists and turns there are particularly in the Imola

section now it is mostly straight but there are still a fair few turns it wasn't like a like they're

in the middle of the UAE or something or Qatar where they just go on a dead flat highway no turns

nothing it it was a little bit technical and very technical in the beginning and end but

Benji remind us who were the favorites for the men's TT maybe the top five favorites so in

general the two main favorites were Philippe Ogana and Rohan Dennis out of that the likes of

Waldfinard also components was up there I think Stefan King in the top five as well Dumoulin was

up there that's more than five already but behind the two top favorites there were quite a

few riders that could really battle it out as well for the third place and potentially challenge

those first two riders so it was not necessarily a decided field but we did have like two riders

that we expected to be above the rest obviously Rohan Dennis coming off back to back World
