culture comes from the experience of living it and enjoying it. But increasingly firms are using

culture as a means of differentiating themselves.

Often the outward projection of business cultures is an enigma or it's shrouded in misdirection.

Tech companies seem to dominate our discussions on culture.

with the mystique of a new pop star.

Part of the ways that businesses present their cultures

is deliberately misleading.

One of the after reported myths of culture is 20% time at Google.

Have you heard of this?

The idea that millennial audiences are so desperate for meaning, for purpose

that companies need to give them time to work on their own projects.

20% time is the example of this.

You're allowed to spend 20% time working on whatever you want.

Wow, the interesting thing about this is that I worked at Google for four years
