Why companies unpublic themselves?

First, the auto-strike.

If there is no substantial progress by noon eastern tomorrow, the United Auto Workers Union

is promising to expand their strike, potentially hobbling the Detroit's big three automakers,

keep profit engines.

So are there any signs of progress in these talks at all?

Well, you know Subri, not really.

Stellantis says it's made a new offer, but apparently it doesn't address economic issues.

The union has previously said Ford has made some progress as well, but we're almost a

week into this.

And the two sides are pretty much in the same place.

The UAW wants pay raises of somewhere between 30 and 40 percent.

And an number of other changes over pensions, tiered wages, the electric vehicle future.

But automakers are still offering about a 20 percent pay increase.

And a GM executive put out an op-ed in the Detroit Free Press yesterday, saying that the

union's demands as a whole are untenable, that's his word.

So tomorrow the strike could expand.
