Day 4 of the Twilight Zone podcast Advent Calendar and my old friend Andrew Schneider says

the late 1950s and early 1960s was a period when a lot of actors who would go on to successful film careers

were cutting their teeth in television. But for actors who were already film stars, TV work was

often considered a step down. Obviously there were some who did, Burgess Meredith being the prime

example, but they were the exceptions

rather than the rule. If you could pick one actor who was a marquee film star during the run of

the original Twilight Zone to have appeared in the series, who would you pick? And in what

episode would you cast them?

I do want to go first, and I'm going to preface this, Andrew.

I'm very sorry, totally cheated on this.

It wasn't that I misread it.

I totally got what it was about, but I have cheated.

So I'm not really sure if this answers the question because these guys were only kind of film stars in name only.

But I'd have really liked to see an episode with a rat pack in it, which I appreciate is

like totally random.

Like they were in no way what you would think.

Like when you think of the rap

pack you don't necessarily think of film stars. They obviously did do stuff. They

did Oceans 11 and things like this. So I cheated in that sense because I just would

love to see more of them. And I also cheated in the other sense because he said, you know,
