Welcome to Tisky's Sour, tonight we're talking about the Windrush scandal, the latest developments

in Priti Patel's hideous plan to deport people to Rwanda, carried Johnson's party with

the gays could this be the one that brings the whole edifice down and we'll be talking

about the pretty horrible scenes from Paris on the weekend at the Champions League final.

How are you doing? Well, twice in two weeks, I feel honored.

Well, you're going to get used to it. I feel like this could become a pattern, you know,

obviously not an ashes spot, but when we make this show even more regular than it is now,

that little hint I'll give you there. The Windrush scandal saw hundreds of people who had

lived in Britain almost all their lives hounded by the home office. People lost jobs and homes

because they could not provide documentation required to prove their citizenship.

Some were deported to countries they had not lived in for 50 years. The human cost for people

like Paulette Wilson was enormous. She moved to the UK from Jamaica in 1968 when she was 10 in

2017. She was classed as an illegal immigrant taken to the Yarswood Removal Centre and threatened

with deportation. The hostile environment made me feel like I was an alien.

Like, I didn't exist. I'm seeing my mom. She's changed. She's not the same person.

And like she said with her, sometimes I can be talking to her and I'm talking and I'm saying,

isn't it mom? And she's like, what? And it's like she's in her own little world and I say,

mom, you need to stop thinking and worrying because the more you think and worrying, it's going to

make you ill. There was one time I went to see my mom and she wouldn't open the door and I said,

mom, I can hear you. I know you're in there open the door and she opened the door and she was in

bits. She was crying and I said, what's wrong? And she said, I just don't know. And she said, I'll
