The home office has long been using hotels to accommodate thousands of asylum seekers. That

follows an increase in the number of people arriving by small boats, but it's also because of

repeated home office failures to properly manage their own processing centres that led to a number

of crises last year in places like Mansden. Now amongst those being sent to hotels are

unaccompanied children. And it has now been revealed that a lot of them are simply disappearing.

Minister for Immigration, Robert Jenry, appeared in Parliament to answer an urgent question

on the disappearances. The rise in small boat crossings has placed a severe strain on the asylum
