Welcome everybody to the Tech Mem Ride Home Experience for Thursday, August 25th, 2022.

0:12.0

Two days ago it was the hashtag's 15th anniversary, so I got to do, I don't know, I don't want to call it a victory

a lot because that sounds self congratulatory. But it was an interesting moment to stop and reflect on, I suppose, my contribution to social media and to this hellscape of a platform, which also is wonderful and lovely and connects us to amazing people.

It was also, I guess an interesting moment just to think about how Twitter has both evolved, devolved, stayed the same, and continues to remain this somewhat, I don't know, soap-boporific platform where people come together and they do stuff.

One of the things that I actually wanted to, I guess, call out now since we are of course recording on Twitter spaces is,

thought that was sort of an interesting moment to sort of just consider in the annals of social media history.

1:46.5

You know, we discussed you bringing your O.G crew on to talk about the anniversary. We can still do that.

1:55.5

Yeah, I want to do it. You know, so many of them have I think gone to the wind in a sense or just sort of like dispersed.

2:02.1

However, I was actually thinking about this.

2:06.0

There's sort of on the one hand,

2:07.2

the compression of time element

2:09.3

where the things that took place over the course know Twitter's history kind of happened actually over a

2:15.8

Longer and larger sequence than a lot of people think so for example

2:19.1

It took a very long time for Twitter to get search and And I think a lot of people kind of

2:23.7

misremember searches being part of you know Twitter from the beginning because
