We like to get right into it and what we're going to get into today is, you're probably

aware of this, two years of January 6th.

Now, it's the second anniversary of January 6th.

It was obvious when the Capitol riot took place January 6th, 2021, that it's after effects

last for a long time.

It wasn't just going to go away.

The prosecutions alone, and there what, around 900 of them, would be lengthy, and indeed

they are still underway, and they will be for a foreseeable period of time.

Politically, from the very beginning, one party, and I'm referring to the Republicans,

had an incentive to move on, while the other party, the Democrats, had an incentive to

dwell on January 6th for as long as possible.

And indeed, in the last two years, Republicans have sought to move on, while Democrats have

sought to dwell on January 6th for as long as possible.

Okay, that's what's happened.

Now, on the second anniversary of January 6th, we have a new poll about Americans' attitudes

toward the events of the day, and the way those events have reverberated ever since.

The results show that even as January 6th recedes into the past, there is not going to be

any moving on.

At least not as long as January 6th has political utility, usefulness for one party, and

it still does.

The poll is from Morning Consult Politico, and it asks some very, very basic questions.
