Summary

Two new court rulings and opinions show that federal judges continue to remain loyal to the rule of law and are willing to expose and rule against Trump and his DOJ's unconstitutional conduct.

In one case, a federal appeals court ruled that it's an easy legal call to conclude that Trumps' attempt "to deny Americans their birthright" is unconstitutional.

In a second case, a trial court judge ruled that the evidenced shows a "realistic likelihood" that Trump's DOJ is vindictively prosecuting Kilmar Abrego Garcia, and the judge ordered discovery on the issue.

Matters. Hey, I'm John Fuglesing. Do you ever watch these Christian nationalists and

0:31.1

right-wing fundamentalists on TV and think, Jesus Christ, these people are the opposite of Jesus

0:37.0

Christ? You know, Christianity was

0:38.9

supposed to be about love and service, but millions of Americans have grown up to find their

nice religions been hijacked by this mean authoritarian, tax-free click. I wrote a book about

how these right-wingers aren't actually on the side of Jesus, and historically, they never have been.

Separation of church and hate, a sane person's guide to taking back the Bible from fundamentalists, fascists, and flock-pleasing frauds. It's a very irreverent and biblically correct book for believers, atheists, agnostics, and anybody who's ever going to have to deal with a Christian extremist in your family, workplace, or government.

You've got a First Amendment right to call them out for it, and you'll be surprised at how good it feels.

Hey, all, Glenn Kirshner here. So friends, on Friday, we had a lot of legal developments. We had several courts, both courts of appeal and trial court judges handing down opinions and rulings.

And if we can try to use as a measuring stick, two of those rulings to try to figure out

1:54.0

if Friday was a good day or a bad day on the rule of law front, I think we can conclude

2:00.0

that it was largely a good day for the Constitution

2:04.5

and a good day for the rule of law, at least as measured by a Court of Appeals ruling from the First

and a trial court judge's opinion handed down in federal court in Tennessee in the Abrago-Garcia case.

It wasn't a perfect day, but on balance, I think it was a good day for the Constitution and the rule of law.
