I'm Robbie Gupta.

And today I talked to two different leaders in two different sectors, two different states who couldn't be any more different, except for one thing that unites them,

0:13.4

is that there are two people I admire very much and who have had a chance to see up close doing incredible work for people.

0:19.3

And the reason why I'm highlighting these two folks is because I think so much of the news is negative.

0:25.6

0:40.2

And that should give us some reason for idealism to know that there are people out there

0:44.0

who are doing the work.

0:47.2

And often those people who are doing the work, because they're doing the work, have a lot

0:51.3

more interesting things to say than the people who commentate on that

0:54.5

1:16.3

medical care right and ethically.

1:18.6

And then we're going to talk to my friend Zach, who's the head of emergency management

1:21.3

in New York City, and he'll talk about, you know, what does it mean to obsess over on a

1:27.3

daily basis? What could go wrong for a city of

1:30.1

gazillion people with a lot of different threats and a lot of different, you know, threats both

1:35.4

people-driven and natural? And how do you balance those threats? How do you prepare for them?

1:40.3

How do you react to them? How do you collaborate? How do you hold people accountable?
