We'll start with the breaking news. At least two are dead after a passenger plane collided with a fire truck on a runway at New York's LaGuardia Airport.

Police say the aircraft, a jazz aviation flight operating on behalf of Air Canada struck a Port Authority fire

truck around 1145 p.m. while finishing its landing sequence. The impact killed both pilots.

The FAA says the jet had arrived from Montreal and was traveling about 30 miles per hour at the

time of the crash.

Collision shut down the airport and triggered a ground stop.

According to the FAA, there will be no flights in or out of LaGuardia until at least 2 p.m.

This afternoon.

Federal investigators are now working to determine what caused the crash. For more, let's bring in MS Now

senior transportation reporter Josh Einerger. Josh, thank you so much. What do we know based

off of this latest press conference from Catherine Garcia and everything contemporaries

reporting from the ground? So, Sam, we know that, first of all, something terrible has happened at one of the nation's busiest airports,

which operates in the busiest airspace on the planet.

It was a busy and rainy Sunday night at New York's LaGuardia when this flight, it's Air Canada, flight, it's Air Canada, flight 86, 46 from Montreal to LaGuardia, when this flight, it's Air Canada, flight 86, 46 from Montreal to LaGuardia,

was cleared for and came in to land on runway four at LaGuardia Airport.

At that very moment, a giant airport rescue fire truck, one of those very large yellow crash trucks that you see at airports

around the world, had requested and been granted clearance to cross the runway, about maybe a third

of the way down the runway, and en route to a different incident on the other side of the airport. And at the very last minute,

the controller who granted that clearance and who had cleared the Air Canada flight to land

recognized what was about to happen and, you know, attempted with great futility and with

no small degree of panic to get the fire truck to stop,
