We know that health care costs and drug prices are out of control.

We've got millions of Americans on multiple medications, and we should be asking why drugs cost so much,

whether the system is working for everyday families instead of for big pharma profits.

It's a new survey that came out and they said the six and ten adults around

60 percent take at least one prescription medication about 36 percent of adults reported taking

three or more prescription drugs in the past year yeah no keep in mind you said that the survey was done

of adults and so that means people 18 plus.

So while you say that 60% of Americans are taking a prescription medication on a regular basis,

that includes very young people who traditionally don't take a lot of daily medications.

People in their late teens and their early and mid-20s typically don't have a prescription that they're taking every day.

But they're getting lumped.

So if you were to look at, say, people over 35, my guess is if they were to break this down, that 60% number would be even higher than what it is and even more shocking than the headline leads you to believe.
