might be right. On May 27th, in 1817 and 1974, two completely unrelated events happened that

seemed like history repeating itself. Two cases far too similar to not wonder what other

worldly force could be at play. So if you like your coffee hot but your bones chilled,

sit back and start your day with a morning cup of murder. On May 26, 1817, a young woman named

Mary Ashford, a native of Erdington, England,

was walking from her work in Langley Heath to Birmingham when she decided to stop at the home of Mrs. Butler.

Her friend Hannah Cox lived there, and Mary dropped off a few clothing items she planned on wearing to a dance that evening.

Returning to Hannah's at around 6 p.m., Mary changed into her outfit,

and the pair set off to Tyburn House for a night of fun and festivities.

Spending most of the time with two young men, Benjamin Carter, and Abraham Thornton,

at midnight the newly formed foursome, left the dance,

and began walking along Chester Road.

Hannah then parted ways with the group and began her walk back to Mrs. Butler's home,

while Benjamin Carter went back to the dance.

With just Mary and Abraham left, the pair began their walk towards Mary's grandmother's home.
