this superpower of a woman. This is what she was made so good at doing, is, is beautifying and

fleshing out space and all of these physical things, the food, the meal, and the couch and the

bed and the baby. And this is what woman was made good at.

And we are being told that that is not an important job.

How are you? I'm so well. Yeah. Well, could we start by telling a little bit about yourself, about the book that you wrote, My Dear Himlock, where you're from, a little bit about you. Yeah, absolutely. So I am a pastor's wife in Tennessee. I'm here in Hartsville, Tennessee, which is a tiny, tiny little town in our east of Nashville.

And I have four little children that are under the age of 10. They're all in the house right now, actually.

Reading or playing outside at the moment hopefully staying alive no they're they're

great and we're homeschooling them and um just enjoying life in the country right now and um

I am the author of three books I had a book on envy called Seeing Green and a book on food called Broken Bread. And then late this past year, I had a new book come out called My Dear Hemlock. So that's amazing. And you're just a super mom. I'm like, I can't imagine writing three books, having four kids, homeschooling. You're like just so

nonchalant about it. I'm like, that is so much to juggle. You just got to lower the bar, man.

Yeah. Well, and the Lord always increases our capacity, right? I think so. I mean, that is

truly the answer. It is true. Yeah. That's so encouraging to hear. So I would love to hear about the most recent

book that you wrote, My Dear Hemlock. What is it, if you could give like a one or two minute crash

course cliff notes version, what would it be about? And then what is it that prompted you to write this book as a pastor's wife?

Yes. Okay. So I don't know how familiar you are with the screw tape letters. I think for many

people, the screw tape letters is a favorite, is a reread kind of a book. I know a lot of people

who read it for the first time in their teenage years. I think that's probably when I read it.

So the screw tape letters was by C.S. Lewis, and it's a book of fictional letters from an older, more experienced demon named screw tape to his nephew about how to tempt the, quote, patient, who is a young man living, I think probably in London, like in the 1940s.

And basically they're trying to, it's advice about how to tempt this human man to distance him from the enemy, who is God.

And so it's kind of like notes from the underground, you know, the, it's like war room

kind of notes from demons, one demon to another.
