The Screen Actors Guild contract with producers expires at midnight tonight.

Rather than focusing on a deal of their own,

SAG seems busy bad-mouthing the tentative deal made by its sister union, AFRA. It spent last week

taping YouTube videos of Vigo Mortensen, Martin Sheen, and Ben Stiller, urging the 44,000 actors in both

unions to vote down the after deal. Sags also heating up the rhetoric

aimed at producers. Last week, the Guild's executive director, Doug Allen, accused them of

offering a contract deal worth even less, tens of millions less, than the proposed after deal.

While a strike hasn't yet been authorized, we still tremble nonetheless. The industry,

after all, is already in a de facto strike, with studios winding down all but a few film productions
