Everyone's going to blow the coverage out of the water. It's going to be an awesome weekend of football. Hell yeah. Welcome inside Good Morning Football. Our job to lead up to the coverage. Presented by Old Trapper Beach Turkey, live in New York City. It's Tuesday, January 24th. I'm Jamie Erdahl. It's Kyle Brent, Peter Schroger, Jason McCordy. Jay, your first time round in retirement offseason. But take us back to what this feels like for the teams that are remaining to be one of four as you prepare for this kind of weekend. Oh, this is a ton of fun. I think the way we used to look at it is now you're going to the wild card round, division round, and each and every week, you're just playing for an opportunity to practice. When the game ends and you win the game, it lets you know that, all right, on Wednesday, we're coming back and we get another opportunity to practice, which means our season can continue. As we saw this past round, there's teams that you come in, and it's a crash landing. You go into that game, those teams that play Saturday and Sunday, and then the next day you're in, and you're literally cleaning out your locker, having exit meetings, and that's it. You leave the facility and you're gone for months. There's also this thing where the franchise of the Final Four, their staff will go to the Super Bowl site this week, and they'll do logistics training, and they start dipping their toe in it. So Eagles and Niners will be in Arizona, Cincinnati and Kansas City of Arizona. You just get a little taste, and if you're the team, it like it's one game away and yet it's still so far away. That's kind of a trick because like, God forbid, you don't want to jinx your snow, but like, gotta be prepared. The t-shirts are all there. The t-shirts are made. Somebody's wearing them and the rest of them are getting sent out somewhere and you're right. You're right. Let's talk about it, all right. Time to lay block. In last year's Super Bowl, you saw Joe Burrow, you saw the Bengals. They came up a yard short as they tried to manufacture a game-winning drive. This was heart-sickeningly heartbreaking. Ultimately, they fell 23 to 20 to Aaron and Donald and company. |
| 2:34.6 | The Rams got their rings |
| 2:35.0 | and the Bengals |
| 2:35.8 | they walked |
| 2:36.8 | away with nothing. Super Bowl appearance, that's what they got. The Bengals are back. Better than ever. Just ask Joe Burrow. I think we're a more complete team. I think we're a better team and we just seem to make plays when it counts. That's all |
| 2:54.1 | the rest of the say. What do you guys feel like you're more complete to do you? I think our line is |
| 2:58.8 | better. I think our run game is better. I think our defense is better. I just think our special |
| 3:04.1 | teams is better. We're just overall a much better team than we were last year. |
| 3:17.3 | So Joe's feeling pretty good about his squad. He should. They look great in Buffalo last weekend. His squad hasn't dropped a game since Halloween. |
| 3:25.9 | And he just dismantled the bills on the road in Buffalo. Now they head to Kansas City a team. They've beaten three straight times out, including last year's AFC championship. What would a return to the Super Bowl mean for Joe Burrow, |
| 3:31.6 | just him as an individual? Yeah, I think we talk about the conference then, and I think we've |
| 3:35.5 | looked at it the last 12 months as being Mahomes, Allen, Burrow. And Burrow kind of being the third man in. |
| 3:43.3 | And it's, hey, guys, I'm in the conversation also. I think it would then be Burrow, |
| 3:49.3 | space, Mahomes, space, Allen. Because if Burrow can beat Patrick Mahom's four times in a row and beat Josh Allen the one time, |
