Summary

Part one of the GMFB podcast begins with hosts Jamie Erdahl, Kyle Brandt, Peter Schrager and Jason McCourty reacting to the Seattle Seahawks dominating win over the New York Giants - what’s wrong with the New York Giants? Peter leads “we in or we out” where everyone shares if they’re in or out on the Cincinnati Bengals allowing Joe Burrow to get healthy. After Christian McCaffrey’s amazing start to the season, the crew discusses if he’s an MVP candidate. Scott Pioli stops by and gives his biggest takeaway from the Seahawks-Giants game, he weighs in on the Rodney Harrison-Zach Wilson drama, and then he shares what he would do with Joe Burrow if he was in charge of the Bengals.

For the last two nights, we've had primetime football games over in New Jersey that we have to talk about. I'm Jamie Erdall. That's Kyle Brant, Banish Rager, and a Super Bowl champion, Jason McCordy to my left. Kyle, great shirt you have on. It's your Angry Runs, homage shirts that are coming out. And you had a special picture sent to you last night by Monday Night Football Running Back. That's right. One of the Seattle Seahawinay was out there, combined it with Mr. Walker running all over the place. He won anger runs last week. We'll see who wins anger runs today in just about half an hour. But there was really no uncertainty about who won Monday Night Football. No. Oh my God. It was a whoopin. This was a terrible night for the Giants. It really was from start to finish. basically got shut out 24 to 3. But let's make it about the Seahawks. They're 3 in 1. And look who's down on the field. Judy Batisteau cut up with the star of the game. That young rook, Devin Wetherspoon. Go ahead, Judy. Devin, you're only the second quarterback since 1982 when they started tracking sacks.

1:30.7

They have two sacks and a pick six in a game.

1:33.2

What was the last time you had a game quite like that?

1:34.3

I have no idea.

1:36.3

I'm just happy that I made it today.

1:37.1

So thank you.

1:41.4

You guys sacked Daniel Jones 11 times.

1:45.3

What were you hearing and seeing out there from them while that was going on?

2:35.4

No, we were just trusting the game plan. The coach played laid out for us. We knew he liked to stir down his first target. So he had his back turn. A lot of guys just win a 101 matchups up front, man. Side outside D-line. Without them, we couldn't have made the plays that we made. So that was it. After the game, Tariq Wollin, another guy in the Seahawks secondary said it felt like we were playing Madden out there. If you play Madden with that defense, that's, you know, all the tricks of the trade. Engage eight. Exactly. Seahawks dominant on the road last night, Jason. I assume you're going to take us on the defensive side of the wall first. Oh, Devin Withersson. My goodness. When he's coming out of Illinois, you're watching him. I was like, this guy, he's on the Ool-Wee watch list, because as soon as he gets in the NFL, he's going to be making plays. And Monday Night Football, it's been everybody's watching prime time. Why not come out of the show and show everybody why you were drafted fifth overall, why you were the first cornerback off the board. And he did. The pick six was beautiful.

2:40.4

reading his eyes makes a play. Daniel Jones bad throw throws it right to him. You take it back

2:44.5

97 yards. It was all the other plays. Troy Aikman couldn't stop raving about him after he made

2:50.8

play after play, whether it was a big hit on Brightwell coming through the line of scrimmish, whether it was pressure on Daniel Jones coming away with sacks. This is a guy who's played mostly on the outside just this week last night. They moved him to the inside. They've had injuries. They had Michael Jackson on the outside. Wulin on the other side. You's just like, you may have to keep this guy on the inside.

3:09.1

And it fits him because of his skill set. He's a guy who can cover, but he's so physical. He wants to be involved in the run game. He wants to be able to go after the quarterback. He has so many different tools that he can use on the football field. and last night we got got to see him all in one total night, chasing down Daniel Jones, making plays. And then even to be a young rookie after the game to talk about Daniel Jones and be like, hey, we knew film study going in. He was going to stare down his target. Giants fans, that sucks. I don't want a rookie cornerback talking about my quarterback talking about how easy he is to read

3:42.2

going into the game feeling confident. Devin Willisman will you say those things after you have a performance like that
