In sports history, I thought this was interesting. The first Indy 500 took place on this date

in 1911. So 112 years ago, the winner drove at an average speed of 74 miles an hour. 74. It took him six

hours. They go a little faster these days. Oh, okay. All right. Let's jump in. Quick look at all

the headlines. We start with the top story and today we'll start with a quick look at Memorial Day.

Yesterday was the 155th National Memorial Day observance. President Biden was out at the Arlington

National Cemetery for the annual wreath laying ceremony honoring the estimated 1.3 million U.S. soldiers

to have died fighting for our country. He addressed the crowd and said, quote, we must never forget

the price that was paid to protect our democracy. We must never forget that lives these flags,

flowers, and marble markers represent. Side note, but today actually marks eight years since the

President lost his son, Bo, to cancer eight years ago today. One of the stories that got a lot of

attention yesterday was the story of Army Private First Class Luther a hersial story. It was awarded

a Medal of Honor for his actions in the Korean War back in 1950, although he never came home.

His remains were never found until recently back in April, a U.S. military lab was able to identify

his remains. And after nearly 73 years, he was able to come home. There was a proper Memorial

Day burial for him yesterday at the Andersonville National Cemetery in Georgia near his hometown.
