We begin with the latest round of severe weather overnight.

At least five reported tornadoes, powerful wind gusts, and huge hell pummeled the heartland.

Ginger's in Oklahoma with a glimpse of the damage.

Good morning, Ginger.

Hey, good morning, Michael.

We're about two and a half hours east of Oklahoma City.

Some of the hardest hit areas right behind me that roof collapsed into the home. I'm seeing homes across the street destroyed. Now that the light is up, unfortunately, one of hundreds, if not thousands of communities for this past week that are waking up in ruin.

A path of destruction in the heartland. Homes destroyed in Pittsburgh County,

Oklahoma, a drone capturing the extent of the devastation. Homes flattened and those still standing

had their roofs torn off. A lot of damage from the tornado. An entire neighborhood barely

recognizable. Debris scattered across fields. This camper picked up and tossed.

Trees taking down power lines and slamming into homes and cars. Lightning striking this police car in Newcastle, Oklahoma.

Luckily, the cruiser was empty and no one was injured. It's been nearly a week of severe storms across the nation.

Almost 2,000 severe storm reports in all.
