0:13.6	It's often remarked that truth is stranger than fiction, and that's because you just
0:18.2	can't make certain stories up.
0:20.8	You just can't make up certain developments in the news.
0:23.8	You certainly couldn't make up George Santos.
0:26.6	It turns out that only George Santos could make up George Santos, and it appears that
0:31.2	he's continuing to make himself up as we go along.
0:34.7	But, of course, George Santos, whoever he is, as a Republican member of Congress in
0:40.0	the area of New York, he is now also indicted on 13 federal charges.
0:45.9	Those 13 charges go across a waterfront that includes embezzling contributions made to
0:50.8	his political campaign.
0:52.7	He also is accused of fraudulently obtaining unemployment benefits, and you might know that
0:58.2	going with that, our accusations now criminal charges that he filled out many reports fraudulently.
1:04.8	We're talking about fraud on a very big scale.
1:07.7	And right now, it's also true that George Santos has become a parable of his own making.
1:12.5	Oh, of course, of the last several months, he's become one of the most famous, I guess
1:16.6	more accurately infamous members of the United States Congress.
1:20.7	And as I said, truth is stranger than fiction.
1:22.7	It's hard to imagine that anyone could make up a character like George Santos.
1:27.6	But while we're talking about an unfolding story, the story is that he has amazingly enough
