In Bakersfield, California at this hour,

a man is inside of a chase bank claiming to have a bomb and holding people inside.

Authorities have negotiated the release of one of the hostages. Police have areas of downtown

Bakersfield shut down. They're trying to negotiate and end the standoff. They say a man is in a room with at least one, what police are calling a community member, maybe more than one person.

The suspect is claiming to have a bomb outside of the Chase Bank.

There is a command post set up. The FBI and ATF are helping on scene.

Police say it's unclear if the man actually does have a bomb, but everybody is safe inside right now and negotiations are ongoing.
